John Kerry sat the Repub convention out last time but I noticed McCain is not sitting ours out. I thought that was the tradition. I think W sat ours out last time too.

Republicans only care about tradition if it helps them.
After the success of the McCain press operation while Obama was overseas, I'm sure they're papering the press corps with faxes and pixelling them with email.

A CBS reporter said he thought it was unprecedented that another party would try to butt in to the other's convention like this year, but in an interview Guiliani said he actually attended Kerry's acceptance speech last year. I think Romney and Rudy seem really tacky. Who knows if the Dems will do the same next week, but at least the GOP started the silliness.....
